Town's hopes dashed by frost

WARRINGTON Town’s hopes that their league derby clash with Leigh would take place at Cantilever Park today have been dashed by the weather following a heavy frost during the night.
Despite the best attempts of the grounds staff who covered part of the pitch the heavy frost during the night has left parts of the pitch unsafe.
Manager Joey Dunn was eager for the match to take place with the team last in action nearly three weeks ago when they were held at home by lowly Woodley Sports.
With Leigh in contention for a play off spot it was a must win match for Warrington to keep their own play off hopes alive.
Meanwhile Dunn is hoping to strengthen his squad in the next week or two as the club embarks on a hectic schedule of games.
“The lads have trained well and are eager to get some match action,” said Dunn.
“I am hoping to add a bit more strength and experience to the squad with a lot of games in the pipeline.”
