Help the homeless at Christmas

A NIGHT shelter in Warrington is asking for help to provide a meal and a gift for homeless people this Christmas.
‘Openingdoors’, which provides overnight accommodation for 10 people, 365 days a year in Warrington town centre, says a donation of £4.48 could make a festive period a little happier for a homeless and vulnerable person in the town.
It would allow them to provide them with a warm gift such as a hat, gloves or toiletries as well as food.
The night shelter allocates places on a first come first served basis, however those who have to be turned away are provided with food and survival equipment, such as a blanket or a sleeping bag to keep them warm.
Rosanna, services co-ordinator from openingdoors said: “Christmas is a difficult and lonely time but having a present to open on Christmas Day and a hot meal inside them will let them know that somebody does care and give them hope for a better future.
“Your kind gift will bring some seasonal cheer to the lives of our service users and any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.”
There are several ways that you can make a donation. You can donate online by visiting www.justgiving.com/openingdoorschristmasappeal
You can send a cheque, made payable to openingdoors (north west) limited, to: openingdoors Christmas Appeal, The Gateway, 89 Sankey Street, Warrington, WA1 1SR. Or you can bring your donation to the openingdoors office in the Gateway.
