Village turns back the clock

VILLAGERS turned back the clock to Dickensian days as part of an annual Victorian day at Culcheth near
Warrington.
Culcheth’s annual Victorian Day, organised by Culcheth Lions, provided a fun-filled day for all the family.
Lions members, shopkeepers and residents dressed in Victorian costume and enjoyed mulled wine and hot chestnuts and fairground attractions.
Christmas Fayres took place in the Parish and Methodist Halls with staff in the Sundial Terrace Coffee Shop providing themed foods.
The lights in the trees around the Village Green have been provided by the Parish council, who also sponsored free rides on one of the children’s round-abouts.
Culcheth Art Group held an exhibition at the Age Concern building.
Amateur street entertainers and strolling players joined in the fun while developing their skills.
Anyone who wants information for next year’s event should call Tim Yates on 01925 762761.
