A WARRINGTON school has received its second “outstanding” Ofsted rating on the run.
Locking Stumps Primary, Birchwood, is the first school in the borough to undergo an inspection under the revised Ofsted framework.
It received an overall effectiveness judgement of outstanding. Key areas of “outcomes for individuals and groups of pupils” and “capacity for sustained improvement” were also judged to be outstanding.
Inspectors were particularly impressed by the quality of teaching, saying: “The consistently good teaching and the school’s outstanding curriculum ensures that the pupils overall achievement is outstanding.”
The school is also earning a good reputation for pupils’ personal, social and emotional development. The report shows behaviour is exemplary, that pupils grow into confident, articulate and tolerant individuals and that the children genuinely enjoy their learning experiences.
Pupils also value friendships formed at the school and are enthusiastic in lessons.
Teaching was also evaluated as consistently good and, as a result, pupils work hard in lessons.
Kieren Airey, pupil and chairman of the School Council, said: “The school is so good because everyone cooperates with each other, cares for each other and works hard.”
