MUSEUM staff at Warrington are to roll back the years with a special day to mark the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 2.
There will be a wide range of activities to entertain visitors of all ages, including live performances and fun work-shops for youngsters at the museum on Saturday, October 24, from 10am to 3pm.
Re-enactment group Northern Forties will demonstrate the daily lives of RAF pilots, American GIs, Military Police and more.
There will even be an escaping Luftwaffe POW who will be evading the MPs and interacting with the public.
Celebrating the local connection, there will be a display on Royal Navy VC hero Alfred Edward Sephton, who was born in Warrington.
Living history performer Dawn Buchannan will perform three 40 minute shows, as a WW2 housewife and ARP warden at 11am, 12:30pm and 2pm.
The exhibition will include display on WW2 diets, rationing and healthy eating on rations.
There will also be dressing up in authentic costumes and the chance for youngsters to make their own gas mask.
