School boy wins national trophy

A WARRINGTON schoolboy picked up a handsome trophy and a £500 prize when he came first in the junior section of the national Fish O Mania angling competition in Staffordshire.
Jack Swindells, aged 15, a pupil at Lymm High School, won the contest with a catch of 8.750kg, ahead of second placed Joe Cartwright, from Manchester, with 8.710kg.
Jack, who lives in Latchford, has been angling since he was seven and is a member of Warrington Anglers as well as the Tameside Fox Match junior angling club who he was representing in the competition.
