WARRINGTON Town’s former Premier League star Gareth Farrelly had his work cut out over the weekend when played almost 110 minutes in 24 hours!
Farrelly (pictured right) made his long awaited debut for the Wire in a pre-season fixture against AFC Liverpool at Cantilever Park on Saturday and played most of the game in his familiar central midfield role, as Warrington recorded a 2-0 victory with goals from Louis Corrigan and Gavin Salmon.
Looking comfortable in a yellow Warrington shirt, less than 24 hours later Farrelly rolled back the years by pulling on the white of Bolton Wanderers.
He played for the Trotters’ Masters team in a Sky Sports event at the MEN Arena in Manchester and helped the super whites make it all the way to the final against Manchester City only to lose out 3-2.
In the process he scored two goals for Bolton and played against former Premier League stars such as Andy Dibble, Nicky Summerbee (both Manchester City), Andrew Cole (Manchester United) and Kevin Gallagher (Blackburn Rovers).
He now turns his focus back to the pre-season ahead and looks forward to playing in the the Evo-Stik First Division North with Warrington Town.
