WARRINGTON Wolves young prop Mike Cooper has agreed a two year contract extension at the club until the end of 2012.
He is a product of the club’s youth system and is a prime example of the quality home-grown talent coming through. He is one of many players who has been supported by the Supporters’ Trust Squadbuilder scheme.
Wembley winner Cooper has represented both the Wolves first team and under 20s this season, touching down for a Super League try against the Catalans Dragons.
Wolves boss Tony Smith said: “We are delighted to be working with Mike again. He’s worked hard to get himself into a position where he’s quite regularly in the starting team and I’m sure his future is bright with the club. Mike is maturing into one of the real talented young forwards in the Super League competition.”
Commenting on his new deal Copper said: “I didn’t want to move away from a club that I feel is going to win things in the next few years. The thought of winning more trophies with
my hometown club is too good an opportunity to turn down. I feel that the coaching staff here at the club are the best to get the most out of me.”
Cooper battled back from a life threatening injury to become a first team regular.
