WOLVES’ hooker Michael Monaghan has agreed a two-year extension of his contract – keeping him at the Halliwell Jones stadium until 2013.
The Aussie ace – who was named the Lance Todd Trophy Man of the Match in Wolves’ triumphant Challenge Cup final against Huddersfield Giants last season – has agreed terms with the club.
Monaghan says he is enjoying his time at Warrington and was delighted to extend his stay.
Not one to usually show his emotions on the rugby pitch Monaghan was elated when he scored a try in the victory over Hull KR at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, a reaction which even surprised himself.
“I don’t normally celebrate much and can’t really explain why I did what I did.”
Meanwhile Head of Coaching Tony Smith is pleased to have extended Monaghan’s stay with the club.
“He is one of the form hookers in the game and is enjoying his time at Warrington.
“It took him a while to settle in but he has now adapted to the lifestyle over here.”
Exclusive video interviews with Monaghan and Smith will appear here shortly.
