Penny returns to Wolves

OUT of favour winger Kevin Penny has made a surprise return to Warrington Wolves from a loan period at Harlequins.
Penny played on the right wing for the under 20s in their 12-28 victory curtain raiser at The Willows on Friday evening.
Last month Head of Coaching Tony Smith said he saw little point in bringing Penny back from the Quins to play in the under 20s and would learn more playing in the Super League.
Penny was the hotest property in Super League when he broke into Warrington’s first team in his teens.
But now aged 22 he fell out of favour due to his defensive frailties.
He remains one of the fastest players in Rugby League but with Chris Riley and Chris Hicks in such good form on the wings and Rhys Williams breaking into the first team squad there is little opportunity for Penny to get back in favour – particularly with a Coach who believes defence wins games.
