Fire crews tackle rubbish truck blaze

TWO fire crews were called out earlier today to tackle a fire involving a rubbish truck at Rixton, Warrington.

Just after 8 am crews from Lymm and Irlam were called out to reports of a ifre in the back of a rubbish truck on Sycamore Crescent, Rixton.

Firefighters used two hose reel jets to put out the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots. The crews were at the scene for approximately one hour.

In another icnident shortly before 10.30 pm last night, one crew was called out to reports of a fence on fire in Egerton Street, Warrington.
The fence panel was well alight and firefighters used a hose reel jet to put the fire out.
