GRAPPENHALL picked up a face-saving 181-run victory in their last Cheshire County League match of the season.
It was not enough to save them from relegation but at least they did not go down as bottom club. That honour went to Ashley who languished 41 points below them.
Grappers’ final victims were Oulton Park, who finished a respectably placed fourth in the table.
Jason Batson hit a fine 125 and Arthur Pennington 90 for Grappers while Arran McCabe took 5-17.
Warrington ended their season with a five wicket victory over Barrow.
Lymm Oughtrington Park finshed their season with a fine 159-run victory over Westminster Park. Jake Hughes hit 96 for Lymm while Antonnel Atwell hit 53.
Glazebury bowed out for the season with a with a 118-run defeat at Burton, on the Wirral,
