Van fire on motorway causes lane closure early today

THREE fire engines were sent to a fire involving a van on the hard shoulder of the M62 at Warrington early today.
The blaze was caused by an engine fault shortly after 4am. Firefighters from Warrington, Penketh and Lymm attended the scene and one firefighter wearing breathing apparatus use a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor the termperature and lane one of t he motorway was closed while the blaze was tackled.
There were no reports of injuries.
