Body found in search for missing Warrington man

UPDATED: A body has been found in the search for missing Warrington man Haydn Thomas, who was last seen in the Great Sankey area on Saturday evening.

The body was found in the Marina Avenue of Great Sankey earlier today, Monday 9 March.

Formal identification has not yet taken place. However, it is believed to be that of Haydn Thomas, also known as Tom, who was reported missing on Sunday 8 March.

The family of the 68-year-old have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.

Officers would like to thank members of the public for their support during the search for Haydn and request that his family’s privacy be respected at this difficult time.
