Cyclist Lottie storms to first place

YOUTH cyclists from Warrington-based cycling club North Cheshire Clarion triumphed at the Dolan circuit race series held in Victoria Park, Southport.

Held over three Saturdays in March and April, the event attracted youth riders from all over the North West and beyond, including riders from the Isle of Man and Ireland.

A fantastic 17 North Cheshire Clarion riders, aged from 7 to 15, took part in the series and the results for the club were phenomenal, with three achieving podium positions.

Lottie Kilroy, age 10, from Dutton, stormed to first in the under-10 girls category, winning all but one of her six races. Sebastian Grindley, age 11 of Stockton Heath, battled throughout against some strong competition, to finish second under-12 boy.

Eleven-year-old Lymm High School student Natasha Hill sealed third under-12 girl in the series after winning the bunch sprint to finish second in her final race.

There were also a number of the club riders who just missed out on podium positions, Thirteen-year-old Raphael Tabiner finished fourth under-14 boy, and seven-year-old Frank White and 12-year-old Hannah McClorey were both fifth in the under-8 boys and under-14 girls categories respectively.
