PLANNING chiefs at Warrington are being asked to approved the installation of CCTV cameras at the children’s zoo in Walton Hall Gardens – to combat vandalism.
The plan involves two cameras to be erected on the gable end of the zoo toilet block and would form part of a wider, comprehensive scheme of coverage for the estate.
A report to be considered by the borough council’s development management committee starts: “The need for the cameras has arisen as a result of vandalism and damage to buildings over a period of years.
“In an attempt to reduce the amount of damage, CCTV cameras have already been introduced in the area of the hall and the café courtyard.”
Officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
