Snow arrives in Warrington – with more forecast

SNOW arrived in Warrington earlier today with more forecast over the coming days.

As forecast the snow arrived in Warrington at around 5am this morning, with most areas of the town experiencing several centimetres.

The Met Office forecast there will be more persistent snow early this morning but it will soon clear to be replaced by sunny spells. Into the afternoon further snow showers are likely though, interspersed with some sunshine. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

The snow showers will continue tonight and they will be occasionally heavy. There will be a sharp frost, with the clearest skies in the west. Minimum temperature -7 °C.

Wednesday will be a similar day, with snow showers. The winds will strengthen too, making it feel bitterly cold. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: There will be little change towards the end of the week, however gales are likely on Thursday and Friday. The winds will ease into Saturday, with fewer showers likely too.

Local bus company Network Warrington report that only one journey has been missed due to the weather conditions with a full service in operation.
