LYMM Rugby Club warmly welcomed Faisal Rashid MP to the first team’s opening game of the season, which included lunch in a marquee for 150 guests.
The Lymm Rugby Club team beat Billingham in front of a large crowd of spectators.
MP Faisal Rashid said: ‘‘Lymm Rugby Club is a very impressive community amateur sports club. I was amazed to learn that over 450 children and young people are regularly involved in playing rugby here and that the senior first team plays at such a high level in the Northern Premier League.
‘’The plans for the new clubhouse and playing developments will produce facilities of tremendous benefit to the Lymm community and I offer my full support to the future of the club.’’
Club President David Newton added: ‘’It is great to have such a successful opening game of the season. Faisal has seen first-hand the exciting developments here and it has been our pleasure to have him as our guest.’’
