A further 36 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Warrington as the UK figures jumped by 4,422 – the highest rise in over four months.

AS local lockdown restrictions come into force next Tuesday, there has been another sharp increase in daily COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington and across the country.

THE increasing COVID-19 infection rate in Warrington is being reflected at Warrington Hospital where in-patient numbers have jumped from 3-15 in the space of a week, with two in intensive care.

WARRINGTON Hospital has reported its first COVID-19 related death in three weeks as the number of new cases in the town continues to rise, with another 38 confirmed lab cases.

A Warrington Primary school had to close and more than 30 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the town, while new track and trace rules for the hospitality sector come into force this Friday.

PUBLIC Health leaders in Warrington are appealing to residents not to visit other households in a bid to contain the transmission of COVID-19 and to help drive down the number of cases in the town.

THE number of cases of COVID-19 reported in Warrington is continuing to rise with the latest data showing over 150 new cases in a seven day period – with the speed of transmission across the UK above critical level.

WHILE the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is continuing to rise in Warrington, including 33 new cases in one day, the number of inpatients receiving treatment at Warrington Hospital has remained low at just three.

WITH the number of positive cases in Warrington increasing and a sustained, upwards trend, there now appear to be “serious issues” with lab capacity for COVID-19 testing with local residents instructed to travel to Telford.
