WARRINGTON Police delivered Easter happiness to more than 80 homes where some of the town’s young people have been isolating due to the current Covid19 crisis as part of Operation Wave.
Most were not expecting them but none were expecting officers to suprise them with an Easter egg which had kindly been donated by several local stores.
Police posted on their facebook page :”It was nice to be able to put a smile on so many faces across the town and see so many lovely displays of artwork the kids have drawn for the keyworkers.
“If we didn’t visit your address and you have emailed a request for one, we are sorry we haven’t replied yet we have been sent over 200 requests, the team will be on rests days until the end of the week but will look to pay you a visit soon.
“Stay safe everyone and thank you for your support.”
Two youngsters Elsie aged 6 and Edward, aged 4, were delighted to receive Easter eggs while they were out walking with their mum Kate Jones and their dog Matilda along Ulverston Avenue, Orford.
Two women officers stopped and presented them with an Easter egg each because of their “beautiful waves” at the passing officers.
Mum Kate said:” It was a total surprise and certainly made their day!”
