MARQUEE signing Gareth Widdop has been named in the Warrington Wolves squad for the first time.

Widdop, 30, moved to the Halliwell Jones Stadium from Australian side St George-Illawarra Dragons in the off-season but suffered an injury in pre-season that ruled him out of the opening two games.

He comes in to the 21-man squad for the game at Wakefield in place of Declan Patton, who will instead feature for Championship side Widnes on dual-registration.

Anthony Gelling, suspended by the club pending investigation, is replaced by his former Widnes team-mate Keanan Brand, himself in line for a debut.

Warrington 21-man squad: Sitaleki Akauola, Matty Ashton, Blake Austin, Keanan Brand, Luther Burrell, Josh Charnley, Daryl Clark, Jason Clark, Mike Cooper, Ben Currie, Matt Davis, Luis Johnson, Toby King, Tom Lineham, Jake Mamo, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Joe Philbin, Stefan Ratchford, Ellis Robson, Danny Walker, Gareth Widdop
