Another “Gold” for Lymm in Bloom!

LYMM in Bloom have won a gold medal in the North West in Bloom awards – for the third year running.
But at the same time, the voluntary group have sounded a warning that it could be the last time they enter the competition because of a shortage of volunteers.
Chairman and founder Ben Selwood said: “We are facing something of a crisis because we are not getting new members. At the moment we have about six members and some of them are not getting any younger.”
It was the seventh year Lymm in Bloom had entered the North West in Bloom competition. For the last three they have won gold medals in the “town” category – and in the year before that they picked up a silver gilt.
The group has also won widespread praise locally, from individuals and from the parish council.
Lymm figured in two other categories in this year’s competition.
The Bright Futures School, in Barsbank Lane and St Peter’s Church, Oughtrington won level four awards in the “neighbourhoods” category – level five being the top award.
