THE motorway network around Warrington faced another day of delays following a number of incidents including a five vehicle crash, involving a trailer carrying cows, which caused severe delays on Thursday morning.

Police closed the M6 in both directions while the cows, which were unharmed, were moved to the safety of another vehicle.

The road was reopened on the M6 southbound at junction 21A for the Croft interchange at around 12.50pm but then two lanes were closed again at 1.45pm due to a broken down lorry.

All lanes have now re-opened.
