A person was killed after being hit by a train at Birchwood, Warrington, earlier today.
British Transport Police confirmed they were called to the scene shortly before 9.30am following reports of a person being struck by a train.
Officers attended at the scene but the person was sadly pronounced dead.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
