Casualty taken to hospital after fire

A CASUALTY was taken to hospital after fire broke out on premises in Bewsey Road, Warrington late last night.
Three fire engines were sent to the blaze at about 11.15pm – two from Penketh and one from Warrington. Firefighters were at the scene for more than four hours.
The blaze was in business premises on the groud floor but also affected a flat.
Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
A ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the property.
Paramedics treated a casualty who was then taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
