THE Children’s Adventure Farm Trust near Lymm has been overjoyed to receive a £126,563 donation from KFC’s Add Hope Foundation.

Children and families from across the UK are now  set to benefit thanks to a generous charity donation of £126,563 from KFC.

The donation comes thanks to KFC’s Add Hope Foundation and the activities of staff at KFC branches in Warrington and around Cheshire who asked customers to buy fundraising scratch cards.

Proceeds from the scratch cards will go towards providing holidays, day trips and Christmas parties for children living with difficulties. Each year the charity must raise £1million to continue their work and so KFC’s donation immensely assists in this.

The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust Fundraiser Helen Crowther said: “We’re absolutely blown away by the support KFC have shown our charity.  This is a huge amount of money for us which will change the lives of children living with difficulties most of us couldn’t even imagine.  This donation has been made possible thanks to the hard work of everyone at KFC and the generosity of customers who have supported their campaign, we really can’t thank them all enough.”

Mike Price, whose family have visited the trust, added: “The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust offered our family the opportunity to explore, play and learn in a wonderfully engaging and stimulating environment. The care and attention shown by the staff was fantastic and we will always be grateful to CAFT for offering us an opportunity to make memories which will remain with us forever.”

Sean Rogers, local Area Coach said: “The amount raised has been amazing, we are so proud to support the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust and the brilliant work they do that is so important for children in the area. The KFC Add Hope Foundation gives staff the chance to really get involved in their community.”

The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust is a charity based in Cheshire, they have been providing holidays, daytrips and Christmas parties since 1992.  Each year they invite groups of children and families to stay with them in their 17th Century Farmhouse surrounded by 10 acres of beautiful Cheshire countryside.  During their visits the children enjoy a programme of activities which includes animal care, sports, art, music and sensory play.  Each year the charity must raise £1million to carry on with their work.

The Add Hope Foundation allows each KFC restaurant to support a local children’s charity, with 100% of funds raised going directly to the charity. Money is raised through product promotions (it donates 10p from every Kids’ Meal), scratch cards, and customer donations. KFC’s Cheshire based franchisees nominated The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust to be the beneficiaries of these funds.
