A COUNCILLOR has taken to the streets with his camera to gather evidence of fly-tipping and irresponsible dumping of wheelie bins and shopping trolleys in his ward.
Fairfield and Howley councillor Kevin Bennett took action after receiving numerous complaints from residents.
Other residents complained of pot holes in Howley Lane
Fly-tipping at the rear of Orford Lane resulted in an alleyway being blocked.
A green bin was left “dumped” in Bluecoat Street and another complaint concerned a shopping trolley left in St Peter’s Way.
Residents of Dickenson Street complained about bins blocking an alleyway opposite their homes.
Cllr Bennett said: “Residents are asking that whoever the bins belong to should collect them and return them to their homes after bin collection day.”
He has asked council officers to write to all residents of Dickenson Street urging them to not leave their bins in alleyways after they have been emptied.
Pot holes in Howley Lane also led to complaints from residents.
