A LUCKY schoolboy was presented with a signed rugby ball by Warrington Wolves star Ben Westwood as part of his prize in a Christmas card competition.
Daniel Peacock, aged nine, won the Golden Square Shopping Centre competition with his design of Father Christmas, complete with 3D holly leaves in each corner, and cotton wool on his big red hat.
He also won a cheque for £500 for his school, Beamont Primary School, which will go towards arts and crafts materials. A special assembly was held at the school to celebrate his win in the Get Creative Christmas card competition.
Assistant head Clare Larkin said: “Daniel is a lovely little boy and this is such a great boost for his confidence. The school is overwhelmed by the grant from Golden Square and we will make sure this is put to good creative use for all our children to enjoy.”
Daniel’s Christmas card is now available from the centre’s customer service desk in return for a donation to the Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace, the centre’s chosen charity of the year.
