Car donated to college

A CAR was donated to Warrington Collegiate – by the manufacturer – to enable motor vehicle students to practice their skills.
Vauxhall Motors, Ellesmere Port, donated the 2001 Vauxhall Astra Diesel. The collegiate already has a number of donated vehicles, but this is the first directly from a manufacturer.
Students and apprentices from more than 30 schools study motor vehicle and repair at the collegiate and facilities include a tyre bay, engine strip down area and a diagnostic area.
Motor vehicle lecturer Roy Bywater said: “The engine and gearbox will be taken out and fitted back onto the sub-frame so we can move it around the workshop. This will give students the opportunity to see how the latest diesel engine is constructed.”
