UP to three weeks of road works are scheduled for a residential road at Burtonwood, Warrington, for gas mains replacement works by Cadent.
The works are scheduled to start on Monday, August 24th, with local diversions in place.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Penny Lane between its north junction and its south junction with Broad Lane.
The Order will be effective from 24th August 2026 for 3 weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Penny Lane, Collins Green Lane, Lumber Lane, Fir Tree Lane, Chapel Lane, Phipps Lane, Broad Lane and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Cadent Gas to carry out gas mains replacement works.
