POLICE have been asked to investigate after a car was torched at Callands, Warrington, last night, Monday.
At 21:42, one crew from Warrington attended reports of a car well alight on Barmouth Close.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots. Police were informed, as this is believed to have started deliberately.
In another incident at 23:05, one crew attended reports of a fire in the open off Knutsford Road, Grappenhall.
A fire, measuring approximately 20 metres by 5 metres, was extinguished using a hose reel.
Earlier at 19:34 one crew from Lymm attended a controlled burn which had been left unattended near the M56 at Appleton Thorn, which was extinguished using a hose reel jet.
