HUNDREDS of classic vehicle enthusiasts are expected to descend on the Tim Parry Community Centre at Great Sankey, Warrington, later this month as the popular Classic Car & Bike Show returns with a packed day of family entertainment, fundraising and community spirit.
The event takes place on Sunday, August 23, from 10am to 4pm, at the Tim Parry Community Centre in Great Sankey, with organisers promising an impressive display of classic cars, motorcycles and scooters alongside charity stalls, refreshments and special guest appearances.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet emergency service representatives, with police, fire crews and Blood Bikes expected to attend, subject to operational commitments.
The event, which has become a popular fixture in the local calendar, aims to bring together vehicle enthusiasts while raising awareness and support for a number of charitable causes.
One of the organisers Nigel Catlow said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming exhibitors, visitors and families for what promises to be another fantastic day. It’s a great opportunity for people to admire some wonderful vehicles, chat with owners, support local charities and enjoy a relaxed community atmosphere.”
He added: “We can’t guarantee the weather, but we can guarantee a warm welcome and first-class hospitality. Bring your cameras, come along, enjoy yourselves and have fun.”
The community café will be open throughout the day serving teas, coffees, cold drinks and refreshments, while a quiet zone hosted by local Girl Guides will offer cream teas with freshly baked scones.
Vehicle exhibitors are being asked to arrive from 9.15 am to allow time for parking and setting up before the show opens to the public at 10 am.
Entry to the event is via Cromdale Way, Great Sankey (WA5 3NY), with marshals on hand throughout the day to direct traffic and ensure the safety of visitors in the park.
Residents living nearby have also been notified of the event, with organisers hoping many will come along to enjoy what promises to be one of Warrington’s biggest community classic vehicle gatherings of the summer.
