A 44-year-old man from Enfield has been charged with the attempted theft of oil from outside a pub at Lymm.

Quick thinking by staff at the premises managed to obtain good images of the offender and a vehicle registration at the time the offence was committed, shortly after 6pm on Saturday 14 March.
A PNC marker was placed on the offending vehicle as they were a travelling criminal, regularly using major networks across the UK and entering multiple major cities. This marker requested forces across the UK to keep an eye out for this vehicle, stop it and obtain details of the driver and occupants.
Colleagues at GMP managed to stop the vehicle, prompted by the suspect vehicle pinging ANPR in their area and caught a male in the act of committing a similar offence and was arrested for theft and going equipped. After collaborating with their officers involved, it was confirmed it was the same male identified for the Lymm offence.
Yordan Georgiev, 44, of Nags Head Road, Enfield, has since been charged with attempted theft of oil from outside a pub on Higher Lane.
He is set to appear at Thameside Magistrates on 5 June 2026.
