THREE fire crews were called out last night to tackle a car blaze on the M62 near Birchwood last night, Thursday.
At 22:03, two fire engines from Warrington and Birchwood, and one fire engine from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to a car that was well alight on the M62.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
Police closed the road fully while the incident was dealt with.
The motorway has since reopened and there was no report of any casualties.
