A 26-year-old man seen riding an e-scooter erratically at Orford, Warrington, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
The local male was sighted by response officers at around 7 pm on Gough Avenue riding an e-scooter erratically. He was subsequently stopped and found in possession of cannabis. He was then arrested for Drug Driving, No licence, No Insurance, and Possession of Cannabis.
Hee has since been released pending further enquiries. The e-Scooter was also seized and will be sent for destruction.
e-scooters are illegal to use on public land in Cheshire. They are classed as a motor vehicle as they have an electric motor which means they require a driving licence and insurance. This also means that the same laws apply as if you were driving any vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
