FIREFIGHTERS were called out to an incident involving a horsebox trailer fire on the fuel forecourt at Burtonwood Services on the M62 near Warrington.
A 13:13 yesterday, Monday, one crew attended reports of a fire at the Burtonwood Services M62 Junction 8 to 9, involving a horsebox on a fuel station forecourt.
The fire had been extinguished with a foam extinguisher prior to crews arriving on the scene. Firefighters carried out further checks with a thermal imaging camera.
The forecourt remained closed while arrangements for the vehicle to be recovered were made. No animals were being transported in the vehicle at the time.
