A burst water pipe, which forced businesses and schools to close in the Padgate and Woolston areas of Warrington, while also leaving residents without a supply since yesterday, Sunday, has now been fixed.
United Utilities say they have repaired the burst on Nansen Close and want to thank people for their patience and understanding while they carried out the work.
A spokesperson said: “Our team have now started to refill the water main to restore supplies. This process can take time, as the main needs to be refilled gradually to help protect the pipework and prevent any further issues.
“Our water tankers will remain onsite, pumping additional water into the network until the water main has been refilled. We want to re-assure you that we’ll be closely monitoring the network to make sure everything returns to normal.”
You may notice some temporary discolouration in your water – don’t worry, this can happen when natural sediments in the pipes are disturbed. You can find helpful advice on their discoloured water page.
United Utilities say they are “really sorry for any disruption and inconvenience this has caused”.
