SCHOOLS and businesses in the Padgate and Woolston areas of Warrington have been forced to close this morning following a burst water pipe over the weekend.
Residents were left without running water yesterday, Sunday, due to a burst pipe on Nansen Close.
United Utilities engineers are continuing to work on site at Nansen Close this morning, and water tankers have been deployed.
A spokesperson for the Warrington-based water company said: “We responded to reports of a burst pipe on Nansen Close, Warrington over the weekend, and engineers remain on site with repairs due to complete today.”
“To keep customers on supply, we deployed our fleet of water tankers and rezoned water from other areas through our vast water network.
“We understand that some customers are experiencing no water or low water pressures this morning, and we’re working quickly to have this resolved.
“We thank our customers for their patience and apologise for the inconvenience.”
School closures have been announced at Fox Wood School, on Holes Lane, Woolston Community Primary School, on Barnfield Road, Green Lane School, on Holes Lane, St Oswald’s Catholic Primary School, on Padgate Lane
and Padgate Academy, on Insall Road.
Businesses impacted include the Rope and Anchor pub on Manchester Road.
