Residents objecting to plan to convert shop to restaurant

1

NEARBY residents have objected to plans to convert a former butcher’s shop to a restaurant in Orford Lane, Warrington.

They claim there would be noise, smells and other problems arising from the change of use of shop open only from 9am to 5pm to a kebab restaurant open until late at night.
The area already has too many shops, restaurants, vape shops and houses-in-multiple occupation, they say.

A property next door to the shop has been a family home for more than 20 years but no-one would want to live next to a late night restaurant.
The proposal is currently being considered by the borough council’s planning department.
