THE Great British Spring Clean is coming back (from 13-19 March 2026), and Warrington Litter Volunteers need Warrington Worldwide readers’ help!

As volunteer Bob Towers put it, “We at Warrington Litter Volunteers (WLV) want to tidy our town for 2026, and we are looking for over 200 new volunteers!”

Jill Dance (known as “the Ladybug”) added: “We have arranged 21 litterpicks all over Warrington over the two weeks of the Great British Spring Clean. Most litterpicks will be at weekends, and each one will have 10 places reserved for the public to book. They will include many parks and trail,s including the full Trans Pennine Trail and Sankey Valley Trail, and some hotspots. Litter picking is a positive experience. Please book a place and join us! Kit will be provided for you”.

Keep Britain Tidy Litterheroes’ Ambassador Tony Dixon (of Tuesday Team) explained about last year’s record, “In the Great British Spring Clean 2025, Warrington broke local GBSC records, exceeding 1,000 bags of litter for the first time. The total was 1,170.5 bags. Warrington Litter Volunteers were highly placed (3rd nationally). This year, we can do even better if we can get the town behind us”. Can you help? Please check the GBSC poster dates and use the Eventbrite booking link.
