Police seek witnesses after 86-year-old woman seriously injured following collision

POLICE are seeking witnesses after an 86-year-old woman was seriously injured in a collision which resulted in the closure of Warrington Road, Risley on Thursday afternoon.

Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses and video footage following the serious collision, which resulted in the woman being airlifted to hospital.
At around 2.30 pm on Thursday, 22 January, police were called to reports of a collision on Warrington Road.
Officers attended and found there had been a collision involving red Volkswagen Tiguan and a silver Kia Picanto.
The driver of the Kia, an 86-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and remains in hospital at this time.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and as part of the investigation, officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any dashcam footage of the collision.
