A NEW weight restriction is planned for Kingsdale Road at Great Sankey, Warrington, to prevent HGVs using it as a short cut.
Highway planners say HGVs have been utilising Kingsdale Road as a short cut between Lingley Green Avenue and Whittle Avenue. On occasions, vehicles have been undertaking unsafe turning manoeuvres, deeming it necessary to assess the continued accessibility of certain vehicle types.
For this reason, Warrington Borough Council is advertising the intent to restrict 7.5 tonne vehicles from using Kingsdale Road between Whittle Avenue and Lingley Green Avenue.
Exceptions from this restriction will be granted for local buses and delivery vehicles requiring access to roads that can only be served from Kingsdale Road.
