One person treated by paramedics after gas leak at Burtonwood

ONE person was treated by paramedics after emergency services attended reports of a gas leak at Burtonwood, Warrington, on Monday afternoon.

At 12:02 two fire engines from Warrington and Penketh, along with one from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, attended reports of a smell of gas on Exmouth Way.

Firefighters checked the affected property with gas monitoring equipment but found no abnormal readings. The gas supply had already been isolated before crews arrived as a precaution.
Cadent Gas were also in attendance to carry out safety checks, including in neighbouring properties. One person was treated by paramedics at the scene while firefighters were in attendance.
The incident was handed over to Cadent Gas, and fire crews left the scene.
