Warrington Borough Council has issued a warning to motorists as Storm Goretti is expected to bring cold and potentially wintry conditions to the borough over the coming days.

According to the latest weather reports, there is an 80% chance of snow and wintry weather affecting Warrington during the week ahead, with colder temperatures, heavy rain and the possibility of sleet or snow forecast from today and into tomorrow.

The Met Office has confirmed that Storm Goretti is likely to impact the region, bringing cold and wet conditions that could lead to difficult driving conditions at times, particularly during early mornings and overnight.

Motorists are being advised to take extra care if travelling, as sudden changes in weather, reduced visibility and colder temperatures could affect road conditions.

Residents are also being encouraged to keep up to date with the latest forecasts and weather warnings from the Met Office, and to follow official Warrington Borough Council social media channels for further updates as the situation develops.

Further updates will be issued as more information becomes available on the impact of Storm Goretti on the borough.
