Driver taken to hospital after council gully cleaning vehicle collides with bungalow

THE driver of a council gully cleaning vehicle has been taken to hospital after colliding with a bungalow at Collins Green, Warrington, today, Sunday.

Fortunately the resident of the bungalow near the Pear Tree Inn was uninjured, although the property was badly damaged and a road closure was put in place.

A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that one of our gully cleansing vehicles struck a bungalow in Collins Green.
“Thankfully, the resident at the affected property has not been injured. The driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital for further assessment.
“Council officers are on site, with support from both Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue.
“Our current focus is to ensure that both the house and immediate area are safe.”
