TWO men accused of attempted burglary at a residential property in Lymm were caught trying to make a getaway by taxi.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning officers were alerted to a report of an attempted burglary in progress in the Whitbarrow Road area of Lymm.
Officers were on scene within minutes and located two males trying to make their getaway in a taxi.
The males were searched and found to be in possession of various items such as bolt cutters and screwdrivers.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “At 1.50 am on Tuesday, 15 July, police were called to an attempted burglary on Whitbarrow Road, Lymm.
“The caller reported that unknown offenders had attempted to gain access into an address.
“Officers attended and two men were arrested nearby.”
Kaid Boyd, 26, of Tyne Court, Worsley, and Daniel O’Neill, of Ferguson House, The Green, Swinton, have both since been charged with going equipped for burglary.
The pair have been bailed and are set to appear at Warrington Magistrates on 6 August
