TWO fire crews were called out to tackle a fire involving a bus near Walton, Warrington, earlier today, Friday.

At 11:02, fire engines from Warrington and Stockton Heath were called out to reports of a bus well alight on Runcorn Road near Walton.
A cordon was immediately put in place to keep traffic away from the incident. The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time, and the driver was safely accounted for.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor the bus for hot spots.
Crews handed the incident over to the police to manage traffic until the bus could be recovered.
It’s understood the blaze involved a Howard’s travel Omega bus.
