PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have rejected proposals for a temporary storage building following objections from the borough council highways department.
The department says the scheme at Plastic Omnium, off Orion Boulevard, Great Sankey has not provided enough information about on-site servicing arrangements, including HGV parking and turning provision.
Plastic Omnium, which employs about 300 people, make parts for motor vehicles and says it needs additional storage for a temporary period of 10 years to meet commercial demand.
The building proposed would have been surface mounted on existing hardstanding. An additional 10 employees would have been required.
No objections were received from neighbours, ward councillors nor Great Sankey Parish Council.
But Warrington Borough Council planning officers, using delegated powers, decided to refuse the application after hearing of the objection from the highways department.
