A CAMPAIGN to block plans by NHS Cheshire and Merseyside to end vascular services at Warrington Hospital will be launched by Labour activists at Culcheth today.
A “street stall” will be set up in the middle of the stall to give local people a chance to sign up in support of the campaign.
Warrington North MP Helen Jones raised the issue in an adjournment debat in the House of Commons earlier this week.
Warrington South Tory MP David Mowat also joined in the debate to express his concern at the proposals.
Labour campaigner Chris Vobe (pictured) said: “After the economy, the NHS and health services here in Warrington remain the biggest concern for voters in the villages.
“The plans to take vascular services away from Warrington will damage services at our local hospital. I know how seriously people in my area take this.
“Local people will have a chance to visit Labour’s stall, which will be on the Common Lane frontage and speak to Helen, myself and senior Labour councillors about the plans.
“We’ll also have more information about what residents themselves can to do fight these proposals.
“I hope the whole village will get behind our fight.”
The “Save Our Vascular Services” campaign will run on Common Lane, Culcheth from 10.30am to 2.30pm today.

Not party political but well done to the people of Culcheth for taking this action. Is there a petition on any site that we can all sign in support?
Once again it is pleasing to see cross party collaboration at MP level to achieve the best for their communities. MP’s Jones and Mowat are to be congratulated for this and their joint efforts on the recent boudary change proposal. Local Councillors in all Warrington wards please take note.
I have a question re Warrington Hospital – How much are they repaying the Labour debt of PFI each and every year??????
You’ll be lucky Keep Watching to find out any of the details of PFI schemes in England, and then only if a whisleblower comes forward with the data. Because unlike Scotland where all the facts and figures are publically available in England that information is secret. A bit like WBC and the activities and schemeing its planning department gets up to really.
