TODAY is Carer’s Rights Day with the theme of “money matters” – and an event is taking place at Warrington’s bus interchange when advice and information about services for carers will be on offer.
The borough council and the Alzheimer’s Society will be there from 10am to 3pm to offer help – along with WIRED
Carers Services, new provider for carer’s services for the borough council and NHS Warrington.
Cllr Pat Wright, the council’s executive member for health, wellbeing and adult services said: “Carers make such an enormous contribution to our community and their work often goes unnoticed. It is hugely important that they access all of the support that’s available to them.”
Warrington North MP Helen Jones is backing the day and urging urging people caring for ill or disabled loved ones to access all the support they are entitled to.
She said: “Carers are fulfilling a vital role in our society, but too often they go without the support they need. We all need to play a role in helping to identify people who are looking after ill, frail or disabled loved ones and make sure they are accessing all the financial and practical support they can.”
